The good: super, super, super friendly staff. They explain the whole menu to you before you order. Burgers are made with ground sirloin, so they are not juicy. I'm one of those people that thinks juicy=greasy, so I loved them. Decor is kitchy and kind of cute, considering the dismal strip mall it is located in. The cookie tasted exactly like the ones I make at home, which are pretty good if I do say so myself. The toppings are fresh and the bacon crispy. The not-so-good: Burgers only come in 1/3 lb. I am assuming that is because they only have one bun size. I can only eat so much, so I wish they had a smaller one or a kids version. Everything was hot and super fresh, but really lacked any kind of noticeable taste or seasoning. It wasn't bad at all, but just kind of there. I was excited to see two strips of crispy bacon on my burger, but when I tasted it alone, it didn't taste like anything. Same with the fries. They were hot and crispy, but just kind of blah, even with the addition of some salt at the table. Last, and I guess least important since my meal was "A-ok"-it kind of smelled in there like old, stale grease. It hit me as soon as I walked in the door. My son had the Jay Leno Burger, which I think he liked for the novelty of it. Final Verdict-give it a try and see if it's the kind of burger joint you like.

***CASH ONLY*** I love the turkey burgers, fries and strawberry milkshakes. We call ourselves "fatties" when we come here but it's worth it! Free delivery if you're close with a $25 minimum. Love the staff and hole in the wall atmosphere!

The food and service are equally impressive. I've come here quite a few times and it's always delicious! The atmosphere is pleasant and there's always something unique playing on the tv! Checkout the shark tank when you come :)

On a strip of road that is very competitive for burger places this place stands up. The unique decor makes it a fun place to hang while enjoying the large variety of "celebrity" burgers. A little pricey for a combo but in line for what you will pay for in this neighborhood, and you will not leave hungry. Make sure u bring cash because they are a cash only business. Also, if you are a fan of fresh milkshakes and fresh squeezed lemonade, this is the place.

I like Jaws. It's not the best burger in town, but it's a damn fine burger made with sirloin. Even when fully dressed, you can taste the beef. Their malts and lemonade are also very good. Yolanda is terrific at the counter. Jaws recently added sliders to their menu; classic sliders or deluxe (w/lettuce & tomato). I opt'd for deluxe. Great bakery bun w/good chew. How does Jaws compare to Freak'n Unbelievable; which is essentially, "next door" ? It's a toss-up for me. FUB has another very good burger and bun; and their toppings are fancier. Ex: Garlic, onion jam. But, the toppings overwhelm the beef. I like the taste of good beef. FUB also has a liquor license, if you just gotta have alcohol for lunch. FUB also has fancier sides; Ex: deep fried pickles, deep fried mac & cheese balls. Value winner? Jaws. Jaws' slider is about the same size as FUB's std burger and you can by two Jaws' sliders for less than one of FUB's two-patty burger. Beef? Tie, maybe an edge to Jaws unless you opt for FUB's "Angus" offerings and go VERY light on the topping(s). Taste winner? Toss-up. It depends upon whether you want a burger that tastes like beef or topping. Bun; Jaws. FUB has a fine bakery bun, but I prefer my bun to have a bit of chew. Lettuce:tomato? Tie Staff personality/engagement? Jaws Shake/malt? Jaws Liquor? FUB WiFi? FUB Ambviance? Both are losers. Jaws' has multiple TV's going full-time. FUB? Their interior designer failed them. All grey everywhere. Reminds me of the perma-cloud that blankets Michigan from fall to spring.

Went here for the first time and got the Monday combo for around $7 ...I got the sirloin burger with all toppings and added bacon, fries & a coke. My burger was just ok...not bad but not amazing. I couldn't even taste the bacon on my burger ...I think it was because it was very thin. Burger was huge, I ate half and saved the rest for later. Fries were good. Decor in the place was kind of cheesy/dumpy in my opinion ...I get the fun jaws concept but it's a little dated. Overall mediocre experience :)

First Monday back from the holiday break and we were right back to the age-old, "Where are we going for lunch?" question? Well, the ROTD on Sunday was for Jaws Jumbo Burgers- so I figured that would be a fine suggestion. We work in Southfield, so Jaws is a little further than we normally venture for lunch - but not ridiculously so. We were the only ones in the joint at this time, which was okay by me since I hate fighting for a table - but made me a little nervous b/c super-yummy places usually have super-long lunch lines. Whatever- maybe New Years Resolutions weren't being broken yet. Panic set in when we saw the Cash Only sign - but everyone checked their wallet and amazingly had cash. That never happens. The lady working behind the counter asked if it was our first time and gave us a VERY thorough description of how things work, what the menu consisted of, and the days specials. Mondays you can get a 1/3 lb ground sirloin hamburger, fries and a pop for $5.75; that's $6.10 with tax. Not too shabby. The burgers were finished pretty quickly- with some hot fries on the side. I appreciate the use of ground sirloin, and was pleasantly surprised that the burger was still pretty juicy. Condiments were good - I really liked the grilled onions. The burger was pretty messy, but I guess that's half the fun. I was VERY stuffed after this meal. It didn't help that the pop cups are large and I like to drink fountain Coke. :) We got a chocolate cookie to share in the office later- and that was also pretty good. I don't know if it was $2.75 good, but it wasn't bad. The staff were fantastic, they made sure we were satisfied and were very friendly to boot. The shark fish in the tank were pretty cool. The 5 TV's in the little space was kind of funny - but was unfortunately playing the Mummy 2. I DID NOT know that on my own, I had to be told that. I wish something else had been playing. The Jay Leno burger thing and all of the Jay Leno hype was kind of amusing. Did they decide to do this because the business is named Jaws and Jay Leno has a big jaw? I don't know. I would have no problems coming back, but I don't think it will be part of our regular lunch rotation. Maybe if it were a smidge closer to our office???... I don't know. After I came back I checked out their website and saw that this is actually a training store and that they are trying to get people to start Jaws franchises. I thought that was interesting. Good luck to them. Late edit: I forgot to mention the bathrooms- Man have I lost my touch. So, the bathroom is one singular - being male/female usage. Ususally that idea really bothers me, but this place was so clean and constantly being cleaned around us - so I was okay with it.

jaws is so fun! the burgers are good, the prices low, and the atmosphere is awesome. if there's one thing i can really appreciate about any establishment, it's adherence to a theme. The place is decked out with all kinds of kitsch (movie posters, sharks, and a fish tank with sharkfish in it) and they show movies (jaws, back to the future, etc.) while you eat. The people who work there are friendly and helpful. Would like it if they took credit cards, but it's not a big deal as long as you know. Overall, it's just a really great place to hang out and have fun.

Did you say Jumbo or Dumbo? Jumbo size burgers for the Dumbo size appetite. These burgers were so good that my ears started flapping just like Dumbo. I was flying around the room in seconds after the first bite. I had a late lunch on Saturday and wanted to relax. I was thinking about a movie and then I remembered this place from fellow Yelpers. As long as I have lived in Farmington Hills I hadn't heard about this place. I have travelled past here maybe a 1,000 times. I had been to the Burger King in the same parking lot many times. I wasn't dissapointed. I followed the suggestion of another Yelper and told them this was my maiden voyage. The woman taking my order was helpful and explained the menu and the Saturday fish special. I ordered the double burger, everything on it minus the fattening mayo(like that made a difference). The burger was jumbo size(just like advertised) and great tasting. Fresh ground sirloin didn't dissapoint me. The only problem I had was opening my mouth that large(I thought I got lockjaw). The grilled onions were sweet and not too strong. The lettuce was green and fresh. It took me a while to eat this burger. A single burger is 1/3 pound, therefore a double is 2/3 pound(.66) or more than half a pound. This is enough for two people. The burger is about 4" diameter and floppy(cut it in half). The fries were decent, not bad, not great. The movie on all the televisions was "Night at the Museum Smithsonian". I relaxed, devoured my burger, couldn't get out of my seat, and stayed and watched the whole movie. Great way to relax during the hectic holiday season. I would give this a 4.5 stars, almost the best! The only drawback was the "Cash Only".

Smells greasy, but the burgers are fine - we take out. The staff is friendly and fast. Personally, I'd give it 3 stars, but my kid thinks it's great.

You have to see this place to believe it. It's definitely...original. Grilled onions made the burger here.

Sometimes there's nothing like a good burger and with that craving in mind, we headed out to Jaws on this rainy spring evening. It hit the spot so perfectly, if only life could be this ideal all of the time. Hamburger nirvana. I ordered the 1/3 lb. jumbo hamburger, side of slaw and chocolate milk shake, ending up taking the huge portioned shake home as did King Fussy who ordered the jumbo burger with bacon, fries and also a chocolate milkshake. Charming, laid back, the workers helpful, smiling, food fresh and made with care. They'll be seeing a lot of us.

Y'all know me. Know how I earn a livin'. I'll catch this burger for you, but it ain't gonna be easy. Bad burger. Not like going down the pond chasin' bluegills and tommycods. This burger, swallow you whole. Little shakin', little tenderizin', an' down you go. And we gotta do it quick, that'll bring back your tourists, put all your businesses on a payin' basis. But it's not gonna be pleasant. I have an admission to make. You know how everyone has a movie they can quote from beginning to end? For me, Jaws is that movie. There is nothing about that movie that I don't love with all my heart. One of these days I really ought to make it to Jaws Fest, a yearly event that takes place at Martha's Vineyard, where the movie was filmed. With all that in mind, realize that there's no way I could conceive of giving a burger joint with a Jaws theme anything less than five stars. Honestly, I think they've earned the rating even after I remove my fanboy glasses. The food is just plain good. Not good for you but great tasting. Everything on their menu sounds delicious. With names like "frenzy burger" and the like, you really can't go wrong. Another really cool aspect is that the restaurant holds movie nights. They'll show a shark film or other cult favorite and you can watch on one of their several TVs while you scarf. That's really going above and beyond what's expected of a burger place. The decor is spot on. There is Jaws and other shark memorabilia adorning every wall and surface along with a large fish tank featuring a hand full of "iridescent sharks" which is really a sort of catfish. There's even a large hammerhead bust over the door with a burger in its mouth and glass of coke in its fin. A word of advice: You're going to need a bigger mouth. ;-)

I'm not a burger person. Except for Jaws, I NEVER order hamburgers in restaurants or from fast food joints. Jaws burgers are soooooo good. The crew cooks your burger right after you order-no heat lamps or such. And the grilled onions are yummy! Absolutely the best hamburger I've ever had-I sometimes want one so much that I make the trek out from Ann Arbor specifically for a Jaws burger.

I had a really good lunch at Jaws. To start with, the staff was super friendly. As soon as I walked up to the counter, a woman asked if it was my first time here. When I said yes, she took me through the whole menu and just gave me a general overview of their food. During this time I also saw someone pick up carry-out, and a Jaws employee actually carried the food out to the person's car for them. Nice! The restaurant itself is very heavily shark-themed, and there's a lot of shark stuff there. Of course there are a bunch of movie posters, but there's also a cool fish tank in the corner with "shark fish" - some kind of fish that kind of resemble sharks. So now, my food: Burger - good, with really fresh, flavorful beef. The condiments and toppings weren't used overwhelmingly, which really helped the flavor of the beef come through. Fries - very fresh, like they had just come out of the fryer. They were in the fryer for the perfect length of time too - crispy on the outside, very soft on the inside. Lemonade - apparently they make this fresh-squeezed lemonade in-house. It was good, not too sweet or too sour. Overall, definitely a good experience with friendly staff and great food. I'll be coming back.

Jaws Jumbo Burgers stakes its claim as being the one and only movie tribute restaurant in the world. Walk into Jaws, and you get the unmistakable yet delicious aroma of burgers and fries wafting through the air. Once inside, there are enough flat screens to watch the ongoing string of disaster/adventure movies from any seat. But burgers are what I came for. The movies are just an added bonus. For around six bucks, you get a 1/3 pound cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and pickles; a generous portion of fries; and a medium drink. The burgers are juicy, and the meat has never been frozen. Fries are made to order too. There are no microwaves or heat lamps! Drinks include fresh squeezed lemonade and deliciously thick milk shakes. The portions are filling and satisfying. Bring cash, because they don't take plastic. Come often enough, the friendly lady who takes your order will ask if you want "the usual".

It's weird. I do not dig the typical "good burgers" - i.e. Redcoat Tavern - but Jaws is in a world of its own. I've only been once (I don't have the appetite to take down lots of red meat) but it was memorable enough for me to want to give their team props. The joint received a nod as a top burger joint in Detroit Free Press, which pushed me - and about 35 other people - over the edge the day of publication to grab lunch there. The staff, despite the burst of clientele, were amazing. The food was equal. The decor was entertaining. Definitely worth the extra wait.

Went here for lunch as its nearby where I work. PROS: * Burgers are actually really good (had a 1/3 lb bacon cheeseburger with fries and refillable 24 oz soda) * Prices reasonable ($8.85 for my lunch) * Neat themed decor * Friendly staff CONS: * Fries tasted a little odd * No credit or debit cards * They were playing the Peter Jackson version of KING KONG. I got there when Kong died. Not a very uplifting movie and I was actually bummed out. But I will eat here again and bring my wife who loves burgers.

If your looking for a great burger for a great price this is the place to go. A burger, fry and a drink will usually land you under $10. as far as the quality goes its all there the only reason for 4 stars is they dont accept credit so dont get me wrong every thing about the food is on point. also they have a killer monday deal where you get burger fries and a drink under $7 check that out. totally worth it!

Every suburban town in America has a restaurant called __Name__'s __Synonym of Large___ Burger. Usually, this is one of the better burgers in town. Emphasis on usually. My hopes when I walked into Jaws Jumbo Burgers were higher than a college student on his umpteenth viewing of Dazed and Confused. All the signs of a great burger shop were there. Name proclaiming a big ass burger. Check. Sound of sizzling beef as I walked through the door. Check. There was only one thing missing from the burger. Flavor. I'm fairly certain you could have removed the entire third-of-a-pound patty from the bun and the burger would have tasted the exact same. The grilled onions had a nice flavor to them, sure. And the burger was literally covered in pickle slices, a major plus in my opinion. But the burger patty had no seasoning whatsoever and was seemingly just there for texture. The fries were the biggest positive to the meal. You could taste the quality in them, although they're not a crispy fry if that's your thing. The fresh squeezed lemonade was more of a disappointment though, tasting like glorified Hi-C. Sadly, I'm now on the hunt for my next Name's Humongoid Boiger.

I thought the captain from the movie was going to ask for my order. This place is "Jaws" theme all the way! The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was top notch. They had signs all over that stated they served "Old Fashion Hamburgers", I guess old fashion stands for delicious! I read a few reviews before I tried Jaws, and they were right. The burgers tasted great, I loved the sauteed sweet onions. I live in the area and ride by here all the time, but this was my first experience with the Hollywood BIG MOUTH, I'll definitely be back with friends. P. S. Be sure to dine in and watch a free movie, I watched part of "THOR" while enjoying my meal.

The burgers here are awesome, Made fresh when you order. A little pricey for a burger (comparable to Five Guys prices). The movies are fun to watch while eating.

Any restaurant named after one of my favorite movies has to be good, and this is no exception. Tasty burgers, tasty fries, and tasty shakes . . . all generous portions. Toss in big screen televisions playing summer blockbuster films at all times, a huge shark tank and enough Jaws memorabilia to make Steven Spielberg blush and voila! You get Jaws Jumbo Burgers. The staff is always pleasant, the food is always good, and there's enough to keep you entertained while you're eating or simply waiting to pick up your carry-out. I couldn't recommend this place enough. Every time I go back to Michigan to visit friends and family, this is definitely one place I always need to go to. Check it out! Jaws Jumbo Burgers is located between 12 and 13 Mile on the East side of Orchard Lake.

Monday was a great day to stumble upon this place! I ordered the 1/3 pound burger with fries and a 24oz drink for $6.49. The burger was sirloin and the bun was soft and fresh! The only reason I could give them five stars is because they only accept cash, which is not good considering I hardly every carry cash.

I have been hearing about this place for a while but had not been there. We were craving burgers and I yelped up burgers and Farmington Hills and Jaws came up. We figured the six of us would try it out. I am not a big fan of counter service restaurants in general. When I eat out of the house I like to sit and be served. The tables were rocky and uncomfortable. The lady who helped us gave us time and went over the menu with us - very helpful. We all got hamburgers except for one of our sons who got a chicken sandwich. Everyone liked their meals except me. The burgers were a little too greasy messy for my taste, and I felt lacking in flavor. The only thing giving flavor were the toppings. My BIGGEST complaint? Waaaayyyyy too much black pepper. The pepper overwhelmed the cheese, mushrooms, onions and meat. Half-way through my burger I realized I should have sent it back. I didn't order a pepper steak. I tried scraping and wiping off some of the excess pepper, but it didn't really help. The experience was ruined. My husband and son didn't seem bothered by excessive pepper, so maybe it was just me? I enjoyed the fries, but my husband didn't like them. My other son liked the chicken sandwich too. Not sure I would go back. Maybe a quick lunch on a work day?

First this place is -cash only- so don't forget your banknotes, you won't find cheap burgers but the food is just great and you get what you paid for,Friendly staff great and huge burgers , great crispy fries. Just a great place if you want to eat a real authentic burger .

I honestly can't say enough about Jaws. My mother recently passed away and, as her daughter, I clearly inherited my love of cheesesteaks from her. She was an AVID Jaws fan. We thought it was fitting to honor her at her memorial luncheon with some cheesesteaks. Jaws doesn't cater, but they gladly agreed to deliver some sandwiches to our memorial for my mother. Just as they remember me by name and appearance, they do the same for my parents - so to tell them on the phone that my mother had passed truly upset them - they really care about their customers. LOVE them!

First time 08/13/14. Ordered a takeout double combo with chocolate milkshake and single with fries. Both burgers with cheese. The burgers are fresh, ground sirloin and taste homemade. They were very tasty but I prefer a more flavorful 80/20 ground chuck. The fries were greasy and limp and I prefer crispy; however, I still ate them all. Also ordered a very yummy side of coleslaw. The chocolate shake was my first in over _ years, glad I got this one! It was so delicious that I can't stop thinking about it. The shark motif is a little weird but so am I. The staff and service are so outstanding, that I am shocked a big corporation hasn't offered them millions to teach other restaurants, or companies, how to provide the best experience one could hope for to insure the customer's coming back (but I was the only one at the counter so it might be different when it's busy.) They also have subs on the menu that look pretty spectacular as well as sliders with homemade buns that I must try with another chocolate shake. Overall, there are many burgers and fries out there that I like more but the staff here make the experience so much better that it's my new burger joint when I'm not juicing.

CASH ONLY!! Good burgers and fries. Bar food style, freshly made. I didn't like the bun. The bread was a little awkward to be buns. Idk maybe it's just me

Wow! That's all I can say! GREAT burgers and large portions. Everything here is made fresh! No frozen patties! This is a privately owned place and not a chain, and they deliver quality you just don't get from assembly line factory-like chain burgers. And their milkshakes are incredible. Staff is friendly and helpful. And the décor? Well, it's different. They have a whole jaws/shark theme going on. And they really double down on it. Other than sharks being carnivores, I don't get the connection but I don't care. It's hilarious and I love it!

Super unique burger place! The burgers are a bit on the expensive side, but THEY ARE HUGE! A lot of them have creative names as well, named after celebrities. I've always gone on Mondays because there's a $6 burger meal deal that includes a basic burger and fries, its very filling. Their shakes are off the chain! It doesn't taste like it's straight out of the package flavor. And their lemonade is fresh squeezed. The whole restaurant is decked out in skarks. Shark posters and stuffed animals, a fish tank with small sharks, etc. It's super fun decor. And there's always a movie playing on the TVs, usually an older film such as the original Batman movie. WARNING: This is a CASH ONLY restaurant! Bring cash or be prepared to leave hungry!

  • Erica F.

They aren't kidding when they call them "jumbo"! I have to make sure that I am starving if I have Jaws just so I don't waste it. I have sat inside the restaurant and I do enjoy that they play movies, sometimes I don't exactly like to watch any movies where I see blood when I am eating, personally! When I order take-out, they make the french fries right when I come to pick it up, which is really nice. The staff is the sweetest, they connect with you and make sure that you are well taken care of!

  • Kelli S.

We love Jaws! We checked them out on a whim a year or two ago and are so glad we did. Here's why we love it: The food is fresh (and you can taste it!) -- you might have to wait a little bit but that's because they're actually MAKING the food (and not just heating something up). Their burgers are good but it's actually their crispy chicken sandwiches that we wind up craving most often. We also love their fries (although if you order carryout, the quality of the fries sadly goes down with every minute you drive away). They're best enjoyed at Jaw's, at a table, while catching part of a movie and drinking one of their awesome milkshakes! Staff/owner is uber-friendly and efficient -- and we always feel welcome! Just don't forget to bring some dough (this place is CASH-ONLY).

I came here with my family about a year ago and my parents actually went ago a few months again and still loved it. We tried a few of the celebrity burgers and they were very fresh and tasty. The favorite is still the chicken sandwiches. My mom was very impressed with the juiciness of the patty and she wished the patty would be larger! Great place - great neighborhood, one-of-a-kind joint.

I thought this place was OK. If my rating were based solely on the atmosphere, the service and the smiles from the employees I'd be dropping four stars on Jaws. I ordered the standard 1/3 pound burger combo with everything, and no cheese or bacon to taint the actual burger's flavor. The fries were crispy and maybe slightly overdone but that means they last longer in the fridge so no complaints there. The burger was OK. The bun was soft but on the dry side, the produce was good and looked and tasted fresh, but the burger itself was thin and well done with little seasoning to help bring out the flavor in the meat. I'd equate it to a large slider style burger. It wasn't anything I'd need to return for but if I lived in the area I can see stopping in to try the rest of their menu...it's pretty vast as sandwich/burger shoppes go. The celebrity burgers looked great and loaded with toppings so maybe I'll return for one of those if I'm back in the area. Definitely worth checking out to form your own opinion.

Very old school burgers! Fantastic! I had the turkey burger and fries. "Best burger I ever had! I will be back! Very friendly owner! Jaws theme everywhere. Ever a fish tank full of sharks.

We moved to Puyallup WA in January and one of the five restarurants we miss most about living in East Michigan is Jaws Jumbo Burgers. They ARE cash only but SOOOOOOO worth it! I HIGHLY recommend getting a malted shake also! When we first found them on yelp and drove by, we were curious how they would be - It's just a little location in a strip mall that you'd probably pass if you weren't looking for it, but the BEST BURGERS EVER. We are on a mission here in Washington to find the next JAWS - We MISS IT SO MUCH! This one also has some sentimental value for me - When We knew that we'd be moving to Washington, we took my sister and her husband here for their last dinner with us. We aren't able to come back to Michigan for a couple of years and I really wanted to show them a good restaurant - So we came here. When we come back to the area to visit, we'll DEFINITELY be stopping by!

I LOVE the burger here. It may give you a heart attack but it will be totally worth it. It's not by any means a fancy burger, like you would get at red coat, but equally as delicious never the less. It is cash only, so don't forget to bring money with you or you'll be walking over to 7 11 like I did.

Serious Kung Fu movie on flat screen TV's - not you run of the mill restaurant viewing. Shark tank, movie posters and kitchy shark trinkets. Oh, the food. Fries were fresh. Burger was large and not greasy (sirloin). Good deal on the combo on Monday's. $7.41 w/ tax. Also have chicken, fish, and subs, all made to order. Place your order at the counter and they'll call you when it's ready. Funniest moment was trying to look the guy in the eyes instead of staring at the mohawk-ish pompadour under his hairnet.

Delicious burgers. Fun décor. Friendly staff -- always smiling. I order the Jaws Jumbo Cheeseburger and leave happily stuffed every time. I would come here more often if it weren't cash only, but I understand their reasoning. Come and eat delicious grub while watching fun family movies!

I truly want to rate Jaws higher because the service was top notch, and they make your food right when you order it... but my burger (the single patty Jay Leno, with two kinds of cheese, crispy bacon and sauteed mushrooms) was just good. Dang it! The fries were alright. The chocolate shake was easily my favorite part of my meal. Ken had a single patty Dave Letterman (the Paul Shaffer - ick), which had two kinds of cheese, bacon and thousand island dressing. He loaded his up with ketchup, mustard, lettuce, tomatoes and pickles too... which may have been why his tasted better than mine. Hmmm... now that I think of it, Liz W DID say this same thing, didn't she? My plainer burger was meh, and Ken's was 3.5 stars. Still, it's a 3.

Jaws is awesome. The only thing I don't like is that they're CASH ONLY (and I never have cash). I've tried several of the burgers. The meat's delicious, the buns are delicious. Great burger! I've also had the steak sandwiches. Definitely not a traditional Philly steak, but SO good. The thinnest sliced ribeye steak (hardly any fat) on a fresh bun. They add lettuce, tomato and oil/vinegar, which makes it a little different. I also add mushrooms, onions and cheese to mine. The half-size sandwich is about 6 in and very big, so be careful when ordering. The owner is great and makes small talk, seems genuinely happy you're there (even for carryout!). A nice change! Makes me happy to support deserving local businesses like Jaws. Will be back regularly.

I honestly mean it when I say this is hands down my favorite burger place EVER. Nothing compares! Their burgers are huge and juicy, never dry or bland. Coolest atmosphere! Sharks in a tank and always good movies playing. Staff is friendly, too! All around great burger joint! I'd rate it 6 stars if I could. I love this place and highly recommend it :)

Good burger and good size. They say everything is big here. Burgers yes, frys no. Ordered a side of frys for about $3 thinking we could share. It was just a standard size. Kind of pricy for what you get. No credit cards accepted either. Overall just another burger place.

Jaws? Jumbo? Well, maybe. The burgers are decent, but this is just another come lately franchised burger place. There is nothing that is memorable to report on for this place.

Wow! Something new under the sun. And - yet - a total ripoff of copyrighted material... Great burgers, great fries, great service all in a kitshy, unauthorized, plainly copyright-violating setting. You must see it to believe it!

Question: What can I say about JAWS??? Solution: JAWS has by far the BEST burgers ever!! I've eaten at Five Guys, Burger Deluxe, and Sonny's Burgers.. and JAWS wins hands down. Let's start with the burgers: When the HUBS and I visited JAWS for the first time, let's just say that hunger pains crept in, and my eyes became bigger than my stomach; We both ordered their two-patty jumbo burger with a side of fries and large freshly squeezed lemonade. OMG... I couldn't even eat a third of the meaty juiciness!! The meat packs so much flavor. I love the idea that using 100% sirloin beef is they're top priority. Then they top ALL burgers with grilled onions, lettuce, tomato, a relish/ketchup/mustard mix, and grilled buns!! )A person has the choice to of course order bacon and cheese) YUMMMMMMMM-MEEEEEE!!! When I write that the lemonade is freshly squeezed... I REALLY MEAN FRESHLY SQUEEZED. As in, when they started to run low, the lady who took our order was in the back making more. You can even taste the freshness. They're fries, just to be a mediocre side item, are also absolutely fabulous. We love going in there, ordering in, waiting for our food to be prepared as we wait, watching a movie, and enjoying the ambiance (live fish in an aquarium and everything!!). It's a very family-friendly place. The employees are always smiling and very helpful!! Now that Tom dresses up in a shark costume, it just makes the place more comical and relaxing than ever before. Go check it out!!! :)

Kitschy decor which is Jaws movie related and a nice change from the corporate mandated 'flair' one is usually subjected to. They have a couple of big TVs playing fam friendly (Mummy etc) movies which is fun. Ordered a burger and fries, made fresh and quick. Had a lemonade which was a little too sweet for my taste but still good. Lemonade was made using their special water FWIW (check out their website for more info). If you enjoy a real handmade burger then try it out!

I love me a good burger and the burgers are better than most. I got a really big burger, can't remember the name of it, but I do remember the grease dripping down my hand, and it falling apart from so much stuff on it. I could probably make the same burger at home, which is why I give 3 and not 4 stars. Plus it is kind of pricey. Not much seating either. Atmosphere is good, I like the fish tanks and the "Jaws" theme they got going.

Dinner last night was the 5th visit for wife and I. Knowledgeable and friendly counter staff. They feature Excellent burgers and fish sandwiches. Cheesesteak sandwiches are wonderful and huge. Try the one with bbq sauce. Hand squeezed lemonade takes time but is worth it. Lastly, there is always a dvd playing on their many flat screens. You will not find a cheaper "dinner and a movie".

It pains me to write this review as I've had Jaws on my list of places to try for 3 years now and I finally made it today. Perhaps I had built up in my head what I'd be experiencing, only to be a bit let down....but I was expecting to see actual movies playing, not their homemade commercials or a playback of them on the news making one of their burgers. Come on, I came here to eat and watch part of a movie! The food is decent, albeit a little overpriced for what you're getting, and I could give an extra half star for a toasted/grilled hamburger bun, but it wasn't meant to be. It was $22 for a bacon cheeseburger with fries, a half sub, 2 lemonades and a pop. This is where fast food meets casual dining though. The lemonade is something I was really excited about but was WAY too sweet. Had to add water and ice to try and unsweeten it (didn't work). So I'm glad I went and marked it off my list, but wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to make the drive again.

Very friendly place, clean and welcoming. The prices here are also very good. I had big hopes. For me I think the sirloin prevented me from loving the burgers. I appreciate that sirloin is healthier and leaner but my burger lacked the extra flavor you find in a higher fat content patty. The toppings were great and added a bit of that oomph I was looking for but for someone like my husband who prefers a plainer burger it was not as happy. My bite of his double pattied cheeseburger was not nearly as enjoyable as my loaded up single version with the tasty grilled onions. His was just too dry. The fries were decent enough, hot and crispy. The service was terrific. A nice place but not one that will have me making the trek from my house specifically. If you like a loaded up burger you will probably like this place better than if you are a person who prefers it plain.

Pretty good burgers and the inside has a really sweet shark-themed decor. The milkshakes are amazing here but the fries weren't that great.

I stopped off for a quick bite on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon during my lunch break with a coworker. I'd read the reviews here and REALLY started craving a good burger. We called in our order ahead and asked if it would be ok to dine in - which was not a problem. The burger didn't disappoint. I had the Jaws Jumbo Bacon Cheeseburger combo. The food was ready for us when we walked in and they had suggested waiting until we arrived to drop the fries so they were still nice and hot. Kudos to them for that. The price was definitely right for the filler my meal did on me. The only drawback was the temperature. The place was a bit stuffy on a mid-November day - but I find it difficult to pin the blame on them for something that may have been a landlord maintenance issue -- as I don't see any other complaints in the previous reviews. I was forewarned about the movies playing - and that's what they kinda hype as their thing here - I tend to get distracted. Spiderman 2 was finishing up while we were dining - followed by the self-produced awkward request for Mr. Leno to visit. If I could add one thing to Jaws it would be an assembly line of condiments. I love jalapenos on my burgers - but couldn't really figure out if that was an option on their menu. Still - with just the ketchup and mustard - the burger was a winner. This may already be available - but I wasn't aware of it. Last but not least - as we were leaving we were thanked and told to have a nice day. Always important.

Jaws is awesome. They're super friendly and the jumbo burger combo is a pretty good value. Since this caught on at our workplace we've been back almost every week. It's definitely a nice break from work, the movies they have on are usually pretty mindless (read. terminator, mummy, 2012...) but can be a nice break from work. Recently they started selling alkaline water, they're not super pushy about it but it is a little awkward when they ask about it. If you're wondering it's snake oil, nothing on their promotional material is true or even remotely founded in medical science.

Looking at the Free Press' list of the best burgers in Metro Detroit, I saw the listing for Jaws Jumbo Burgers and thought "Wow, that's an interesting name?" Then I looked at the website and saw the sheer gargantuan size of the burgers and thought for sure that I had to try one! The setting was nostalgic of the Jaws movies; posters and pictures plaster every wall. Flat-screen TV's play current day movies (Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer was on when I came in) while the aroma of sizzling beef fill the air. I chose to go for it and got the Jumbo Frenzee Double Cheeseburger with fries and a drink. I couldn't wait to get my order! The burger teetered, two 1/3 pound sirloin patties stacked with american cheese, grilled onions, pickles, ketchup, mayo and mustard. It was daunting and looked delicious! However, 2-3 bites into this giant and my brother and I realized; it wasn't as flavorful as we thought it would be. We continued the task, however, we didn't find ourselves enjoying the burger as much as a regular burger we would make on the grill at home. Though large in size, to us the beef lacked flavor thus counteracting the sheer largeness of the burger and therefore making it a task to finish! The fries were par at best and were bland even with salt and pepper. I did appreciate the uniqueness of the place and enjoyed my time dining in, with the spectacle of the plasma TV's, nostalgic movie memorabilia, and friendly service. However, for a place that touts its burgers, I was left disappointed though very, very full.

Absolutely delicious. My sister LOVES this place, and it is near home so she goes at least once a week! I have to say that it's not quite the best burger I've ever had, but they're very good. Personally, I am more of a fan of small burgers that are more like sliders. I like their shakes a lot though. Certainly a place I will frequent whenever I am at home.

Very good burgers, but this place is way too gimmicky, only takes cash, can't decide on a theme, and has heat lamps right below the "no heat lamps" sign. Not to mention a half dozen loud TVs playing early 2000s classics like The Mummy on repeat in this tiny restaurant. Oh, and the cancer curing water... c'mon. I'd recommend carry out.

WOW Never did I think I'd find a place that made my fiance so happy!!! He is the biggest Jaws fan in the universe (seriously) and when I came across this place, I knew we had to go immediately. Word to the wise, it is cash only! I completely forgot but luckily he had some money on him so we were good to go. Walking in I didn't know where to look first! There's a shark tank to the right, Jaws posters and memorabilia scattered everywhere, then Jurassic Park (literally - his second favorite movie ever...he was in heaven) was playing on like 6 TVs....and then the menus were hanging over the counter!! OVERLOAD!!! In a good way of course :) The manager was extremely friendly and helpful - he explained that their portions are, indeed, Jumbo - good thing - we always order way too much food! I ended up with a cheeseburger and my fiance got a bacon cheeseburger with a medium chocolate shake and we split an order of fries. Okay - a lot of reviews said that the fries were "okay" but I thought these were incredible! I love crispy crunchy fries and that was exactly how these were. I hate when a fry falls over when you hold it up - these were perfect. If I hadn't split the order (1/2 lb!!) with my guy I for sure would have eaten every last fry happily. The burgers are also delicious!! They make the 1/3 lb burger very flat so it gets kind of crispy around the edges and the burger is just a bit bigger than the bun - SO GOOD. It was juicy, and topped with the grilled onions, lettuce, mayo, ketchup and pickles, there was so much flavor I just smiled like a moron while I ate. I didn't even talk....I just shoved the burger in my mouth until it was gone. Then I felt sad :( The shake was also super good. Note: Remember those Jumbo portions?? They apply to the shakes too - a medium is any one else's large or XL. It's HUGE. But it's worth it!! It was super creamy and not over-chocolately. We drank it so fast we were both coughing and gasping for breath from the cold haha. I love when a restaurant makes food so good that I'm sad when I'm done, and that's exactly how I felt after eating at Jaws. I was in a glass case of emotion. I was so happy I got to experience this place, but so sad that it was over so fast (my fault, remember, I didn't talk - just shoveled food into my mouth). I highly suggest this place and hope that people keep going so it stays open!!

I have to admit that my expectations may have been high after reading the reviews here before going to Jaws Jumbo Burgers. But, it really didn't help that the first thing I saw upon arriving at JJB was a litter-strewn parking lot complete with an empty bottle of wine delicately balancing on a curbstone. I was, however, encouraged by their sign in the window that said that they only used ground sirloin in their menu. Ground sirloin is the choice for our household because of its low fat content. You have to be careful in cooking with it because fat is a big part of the flavor component and the less the fat content, the less juicy a burger can be. To JJB's credit, they managed to keep their burgers relatively juicy and fresh tasting. One of the misses for me was the hard sell that occurred at the ordering counter. I mean, the guy was downright pushy. At first it was kind of funny, but then he became so relentless in his pitch that I ordered a malted just to shut him up. The fries were good and the malted was a fine compliment to the meal. However, I would've enjoyed my burger more had they not employed a heavy hand with the pepper shaker. FYI, as one of my photos warns: CASH ONLY.

I ordered the Paul Shaffer and my companion got the jumbo burger. Both were good. They use ground sirloin which is not that juicy. They make up for it with the sauteed onions and all of the toppings however. I had heard raves about this place and they have a good hamburger. The buns could be a little tougher to hold up to all the toppings. The fries were good but not great, lemonade just OK, and the chocolate malt was excellent. I would go back just for the malted and skip the burger and fries. They only take cash here which I think is quite stupid since they charge so darn much for their food. A meal for 2 is more than 20 bucks. The dining area was dirty and the decor on the walls covered in layers of dust. Not appealing to look at while eating. They were playing some Ben Stiller movie while we were there, which is nice. I liked the Jaws shark theme stuff and the movie playing, but I don't get the burgers named after late-night hosts. Why not call the burgers Jaws 1, 2, and 3D, or something that FITS with the theme? The lady that helped us was super nice. She explained the history of the restaurant and was very interested in how we liked our food. Honestly, I liked it better than 5 Guys and will probably go to Jaws instead from now on, just because I want that malted.

Came back last week and grabbed a steak & mushroom sub. Unlike last time it was verrrry busy, there was a bit of a wait (we are not known for our patience) but the staff was super friendly and I was out of there in about 8 minutes. I'd go back again if I was in the area but nothing super special here...

I am in total agreement with other reviewers on this place. I just went here tonight for the first time and enjoyed it so much I jumped right on yelp to review. I had the double bacon cheese burger, it was the size of a small basketball, and delicious. Bacon was crispy and not all fatty and gross like most other burger places, tomato was fresh and crisp, and the burger tasted like beef, not cardboard like fast food. I LOVED this place. I will be going back soon, hell, maybe tomorrow. Nice shark tank, plasma TV's, pleasant staff and great lemonade. Worth 6 stars, but yelp says 5 is the best. I say it's because they haven't eaten at Jaws Jumbo Burgers.

I've been here 2-3 times, and I've always ordered the Lil Chuy. The Chelsea Handler is a little too big for my appetite, but the Lil Chuy is just right. The food is consistently good and so is the service. I've had a chocolate malt shake, but you can get it without malt if you're not a fan - my Mom is not a fan of malt apparently. There's tons to look at in this place! All the shark-themed items, like shark squeak toys by the soda fountain. It's just such a cool environment, and there's always a movie playing on the TVs. The owner is super nice and friendly. It just makes it such an inviting experience. It is cash-only, so just make sure you have cash on hand or hit the ATM before you come.
